On the 25th to the 28th September 2025, I will be joining Jason Leonard and other Trekkers to climb Mount Toubkal the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains and North Africa with a summit 4,167m above sea level. The Atlas Foundation took its name from the Atlas Mountains so it is apt that we are tackling it on the 10th Anniversary of the Charity.
This will be my 3rd trek with Jason and biggest challenge yet for Atlas having previously climbed mount Sandakphu (3,636m) in the
Himalayas and Oldonyo Lesatima Peak (4001m) in Kenya.
In Kenya I witnessed first hand the extreme poverty that children live in at Kibera, Nairobi one of the biggest slums in the world where over 700,000 people live in a slum the size of Croydon. The average life expectancy of children is around 27 years old and 19% of children die before their 5th Birthday. The good work of the of its supporters and fundraisers has enabled the Atlas Foundation to provide a food programme which allows the children to have at least one hot meal a week and set up a school to give the children some hope in life.
This is just one of many programmes the Atlas runs throughout the world to help impoverished children live in hope of a better life so please support me to raise much needed funds.
