SUMMARY:Atlas Trek 2025 - Mount Toubkal\, Morocco
DESCRIPTION:A SUNRISE VIEW FROM THE TOP OF THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS\nWith Jason Leonard \n \n Visit our Atlas Trek 2025 Fundraising Page\n \n Meet our 2025 Atlas Trekkers\n \n \n \n \n \n				  \nMorocco is a vibrant country with extreme variety. It has windswept beaches\, bustling cities\, and jagged mountain peaks. Mount Toubkal\, the highest peak in North Africa\, stands at an impressive 4\,167 metres above sea level\, making it a fine challenge. During this adventure packed weekend\, you’ll experience the bustle of Marrakech\, the ruggedness of the mountains\, and be rewarded with epic views from the summit of Mt Toubkal. \nTrip Overview\nThis trip combines a visit to Marrakech with a challenging hike in the Atlas mountains\, where you will aim to reach the summit of Mount Toubkal. After arriving at Marrakech Airport\, you’ll be shuttled to your riad for the first night. The following morning\, you’ll drive towards the intimidating Atlas mountain range and begin your two day trek on Toubkal. You’ll spend the night at the Mouflon Refuge\, 3\,200m above sea level\, before making a dawn start to reach the peak. After a quick celebration on the summit\, you’ll make the long descent to the valley and drive back to your riad for a celebratory dinner. The next morning can be spent exploring Marrakech before flying home. \nOrganisation and Leadership\nThis expedition is highly supported by a team of mountain specialists. Monix Adventures has been organising and leading specialised expeditions for more than 8 years\, and many of their local guides have hundreds of ascents to their name. \nAccommodation & Service\nSleeping well and being comfortable can make or break your trip\, that’s why Monix pride themselves on delivering the best accommodation and service on and off the mountain. In Marrakech Monix work with a handful of beautiful riads for a truly Moroccan experience. On the mountain Monix always use the better of the two available refuges\, typically with only 4 team members per room\, rather than the 40 per room in the main refuge. \nThe Itinerary \nDAY 1: 25th September 2025London to MarrakechArrive Marrakech Airport and private transfer to your riad or hotel. Explore the famous Jemaa El Fna square by night when it comes alive with snake charmers\, henna artists and traditional music\, or acclimatise in the riad with some cold beers. \nDAY 2: 26th September 2025Marrakech to Toubkal RefugeDeparting from the riad after breakfast\, you’ll begin your adventure with a 2 hour drive along the winding roads through Morocco’s gorges and valleys\, to the Berber trailhead village of Imlil. After a quick refreshment of traditional mint tea\, you’ll leave the vehicles and set out through the valleys and stark mountain slopes\, admiring the remote villages and the impressive sight of the terraced houses perched on the mountains around you. After 2-2.5 hrs hiking you will break for lunch next to a waterfall in the sacred village of Sidi Chamharouch\, before setting out again\, hiking another 2-2.5 hrs up steep mule tracks to the Mouflon Refuge. You can use the rest of the day to relax or stroll around the surrounding slopes\, before dinner and a good\, if short\, night’s sleep in the Refuge. \n \nDAY 3: 27th September 2025Toubkal Refuge – Jebel Toubkal Summit – Toubkal Refuge – Imlil – MarrakechAlpine start today for breakfast and set out at around 0500hrs towards the summit. The route starts with a rising traverse of a long slope\, before narrowing to a broad gully. This first section will be climbed in darkness\, and once the sun has risen you’ll get a view of your real objective\, the summit of Jebel Toubkal\, which will have so far been largely obscured by surrounding peaks. There is a further steep slope\, before a final ridge climb and narrow path to the peak. The climb should take 3-4hrs and may be partly on snow. Once at the top\, you’ll have time to take photos and a short break before starting your descent back to the refuge for lunch. After lunch\, you’ll hike all the way back to Imlil\, retracing your steps\, and enjoying the thick air. Once back at Imlil you’ll drive back to your riad in Marrakech for a well deserved shower\, a celebratory dinner\, and a good night’s sleep. \nDAY 4: 28th September 2025Marrakech to LondonThis morning you’ll have a chance to recover and explore the fascinating sights of Marrakech\, a vibrant and bustling city. A private tour guide will show you around\, and explain the heritage of the medina and it’s many historical buildings. Then all too quickly\, it’s time to head back to the airport for flights home. \nRecommended Flights\nWe will add here the suggested flights which are the best fit for our itinerary\, and private transfers for our team are included.Teams are usually split throughout Business Class and Economy\, so please book whichever you’re most comfortable with.If you wish to arrive or depart at different times\, please contact us so that we can arrange additional services as required. If you would like to extend your stay in Morocco\, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist with further travel. \nIncluded\n\nReturn Private Airport transfers from Marrakech Menara Airport\nWelcome meeting\nMarrakech Accommodation\n2D1N Toubkal Summit Hike incl:\nReturn Private transfers\nAccommodation in Mouflon Refuge\nMountain Guide/ Support team\nMeals on trek\n\nExcluded\n\nInternational flights\nEntry visas if required\nBeverages\nEquipment\nTravel insurance\nTips\nAnything not listed as included\n\nFunding Requirements\n\nWe are aiming for 15 people on the trek\nThere will be a group fundraising target of £75\,000\nWe would like each trekker to commit to raising at least £2\,000\nThe cost of the trek is £1\,595 p/p\, a deposit of £500 will be required to secure your place\nThe balance will be due before departure if you have not reached your target\nDeposits and full balances are refundable after you have reached the minimum fundraising target\n\nBooking\nTo secure your spot on this trek\, please click here to complete the booking form. \nAfter the booking form has been completed\, an invoice will follow asking for the deposit. \nSet up your fundraising page here.

Born with albinism\, he faced heartbreaking prejudice—other children refused to play with him\, believing harmful misconceptions about his condition. \nBut when his father encouraged him to join Bhubesi Pride Foundation’s rugby programme\, everything began to change. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Read Felix's Full Story\n \n \n \n \n \n Who’s on board already?\nJoining BPF’s founder Richard Bennett and leading our 2025 Highland Hiking Charity Challenge is ESMS Junior School teacher\, Duncan Macdonald. A hiking/orienteering enthusiast and proud father of two\, Duncan took on a different set of Scottish munros for BPF last year (10 to be exact) while others were taking it one step at a time along the Thames river path in London. Passionate about Malawi\, Duncan also runs a partnership with a school in the country. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nAfter my hike in the Highlands last year\, Richard suggested the idea of a follow-up team challenge in 2025… My legs were still recovering so I wasn’t expecting to say “great idea\, let’s go for it” in response! Having visited BPF’s community centre in Malawi and met some of the NGO’s staff and coaches there\, I really am delighted to be connecting with BPF in such a big way this year. \nI know the Cairngorms area well so it’s going to be fantastic to share my passions for hiking and supporting youth sport for development programs in Malawi. I so look forward to teaming up with a great group of walkers in September! \n\n Duncan Macdonald\n ESMS Junior School teacher \n \n \n Discover More of Bhubesi Pride Foundation\n \n \n \n \n \n Register Your Place TodayBecome a part of the BPF Team and raise funds to change lives in Malawi. \n Get In Touch

SUMMARY:South Africa Trek
DESCRIPTION:Join the Trek of a lifetime in South Africa!\nThe Atlas South Africa Trek 2024 will see five action packed days with the group undertaking a challenging trek through the Kruger National Park. The day you trek will be tough\, hot\, and over harsh terrain guided by armed guides\, who will protect us from the animals. Our group will need to silently navigate through the bush and riverbeds surrounded by the Big 5\, this is a tough physical challenge\, and most definitely not a stroll in the park! Overnight camping under the stars will be followed by an early morning start with game rangers and vets to assist us de-horning the rhinos. This once in a lifetime conservation experience will complete the trek challenge. The group will then visit Atlas projects in Gauteng and the Cape\, including the Atlas DigiBus in the Langa township in Cape Town. You will be able to see first-hand the challenges on the ground\, along with the critically important work that Atlas caries out to support the young people who live in some of the world’s poorest and most dangerous communities. \nFind out more information about the Trek in our Trek brochure.
