Get Your School Involved with The Atlas Foundation
As a charity focused on supporting children, we’re a natural fit for schools to partner with. Every pupil, parent, and staff member can play a part in helping us reach and support even more children.
There are lots of ways your school can help support the work we do, from Charity of the Year partnerships to mufti days and bake sales. Every penny raised will make a real difference to the lives of hundreds of children every year.
Case Study: Dauntsey’s School and The Atlas Foundation
Dauntsey’s School in Wiltshire serves as an inspiring example of how schools can make a meaningful impact. This year, they selected The Atlas Foundation as their Charity of the Year, focusing on supporting the Kings Development Rugby Academy in Kenya.
The partnership was chosen through a collaborative process involving pupils, families, and faculty. Students nominated charities that resonated with their values, then voted for the one they wanted to support. From day one, Dauntsey’s committed to active, hands-on support.
In additon to raising funds for KRDA, Dauntseys School spotted there was an oppertunity to connect with Little Sports, Kenya, on a 10-day conservation and community-focused adventure 28 pupils embarked on.
On their journey to Kenya, students and staff transported 86 kilograms of donated rugby kits—including balls, jerseys, and boots—to Little Sports Kenya. These donations, sourced through Atlas partners like Slough RFC and Simon Shaw MBE, will directly benefit children, providing life skills, nutrition, and education to those that need it most.
John Davies, Head Master at Dauntsey’s, emphasized how closely Atlas’ mission aligns with the school’s ethos:
“The charity’s work to empower disadvantaged young people through rugby resonates with our values. We’re excited to support their inspiring mission and hope to make a meaningful difference through our fundraising this year.”
Jason Leonard OBE, Founder of The Atlas Foundation, highlighted the value of partnerships like this:
“It’s wonderful to see students engaging in charitable work and learning the tangible impact of their efforts. Partnerships like these remind us that collaboration is the key to transforming lives.”
With planned events throughout the year, Dauntsey’s is not only raising funds but also building awareness of how rugby can unite communities and create pathways out of poverty.
