Dauntsey’s Pupil Cookie White Conquers Paris Half Marathon, Raising Over £2,000

The Paris Half Marathon has been and gone—and what an incredible success it was! Cookie White, a determined pupil from Dauntsey’s School, took on the challenge of running 21.1 kilometers (13.1 miles) through the iconic streets of Paris to raise vital funds for The Atlas Foundation. Thanks to her hard work, dedication, and the generosity of her supporters, Cookie has raised over £2,000, including Gift Aid, to help transform lives through the power of sport.

In September 2024, Dauntsey’s School voted The Atlas Foundation as Charity of Choice 2024/2025. All fundraising efforts will be donated to The Atlas Foundation’s project partner, Kings Rugby Development Academy.

The Paris Half Marathon, or Semi de Paris, is one of the most popular half marathons in Europe, attracting over 40,000 runners each year. The route takes participants on a scenic journey through the French capital, starting at the Place de la Bastille and winding past historic landmarks such as the Bois de Vincennes before finishing with a triumphant sprint back to the city.

A Mission Beyond the Finish Line
For Cookie, this was about much more than just crossing the finish line. Reflecting on her journey, she shared:

“Having seen the struggles faced within impoverished communities during my visit to Africa, I know full well how vital The Atlas Foundation’s work is. I am delighted to have raised funds to support their mission. As an active rugby player myself, I believe in the power of sport to bring people together. Using the half marathon as a fundraising aid felt like the perfect fit. Through all of this, I hope that the efforts from all Dauntsey’s pupils make even the smallest difference in someone’s life.”

Making an Impact Through Sport
The funds raised by Cookie will go directly toward The Atlas Foundation’s mission of tackling poverty and inequality around the world. By harnessing the core values of rugby—respect, discipline, and teamwork—Atlas provides young people with access to education, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities.

Cookie’s dedication is a shining example of how sport can be a catalyst for change, and her efforts will have a lasting impact on children and communities in need.

A Heartfelt Thank You
