Over 200 Atlas-Branded Tops Sold to Support Disadvantaged Children Worldwide
Dauntsey’s School celebrated a remarkable double victory last week — not only securing the U18 Plate with a thrilling 55-35 win over St. Anselm’s College but also raising significant funds for The Atlas Foundation through an inspiring student-led fundraising initiative.
In a brilliant show of creativity and commitment, Dauntsey’s students designed and sold Atlas-branded t-shirts for the match, to support the charity’s work in tackling poverty, inequality, and exclusion through the power of rugby. With over 200 tops sold, every penny of the proceeds will go directly to The Atlas Foundation, helping to provide education, mentorship, and opportunity to children living in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
Jason Leonard OBE Applauds Dauntsey’s Dedication
Jason Leonard OBE, Chairman and Founder of The Atlas Foundation, World Cup winner, and England’s most-capped player with 114 caps, was in attendance to cheer on Dauntsey’s and witness firsthand the school’s incredible commitment to making a difference.
A Victory Fueled by Purpose
Dauntsey’s stormed into an early lead, with lock Ben Smart crossing the line within five minutes, followed by a penalty from Henry Taylor and a dazzling try from winger Kian Brightmore-Crook. St. Anselm’s responded through loosehead prop Patrick Jones, but Dauntsey’s rolling maul and a try from tighthead Scott Pickford reasserted their dominance.
Further tries from Ashton Thatcher, vice-captain Alfie Shears, and Finn Morton widened the margin, while St. Anselm’s showed resilience with scores from hooker Daniel Peers and Irish U18 international Alex Kerr. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Pickford clinched his second score of the game, with Leo Grist-Cort adding the final flourish.

Fundraising Triumph to Match On-Field Success
While the team’s efforts on the pitch were impressive, the students’ commitment to making a difference through fundraising truly stole the spotlight. The sale of Atlas-branded tops not only engaged the school community but also provided essential funds to support life-changing projects around the world.
Supporting Atlas, One Top at a Time
The funds raised will contribute to The Atlas Foundation’s mission of empowering young people through education, health, and inclusion, using rugby as a catalyst for change. Dauntsey’s initiative exemplifies how young people can harness the power of sport to transform lives, demonstrating that every action, big or small, can make a lasting impact.
Dauntsey’s School has not only lifted the U18 Plate but has also lifted the hopes and futures of children across the globe. A true victory for rugby, charity, and community.
