“Their Priority is the well-being of women and children”

Water and Healthcare Foundation was started in 2009 and operates in Kampong Chhnang, central Cambodia.  WAH has a proven track record. Team WAH has installed clean water systems in over 240 schools, in all 49 health centres and the 3 main hospitals – and the impact platform keeps growing, with medical & healthcare training initiatives, and cataract & cleft-lip missions in underserved communities.

Impact

WAH Foundation has had a life changing, long term impact for the women and children in Kampong Chhnang.  Through building, installing and maintaining ultra-filtration clean water systems, WAH Foundation are ensuring that children have access to safe drinking water, with significantly reduced risk of water borne disease – since 2009, access to clean water, as part of an integrated hygiene education & dental health program, has reduced preventable water borne disease by 85%. Clean water changes everything.

WAH Foundation, in collaboration with The Atlas Foundation and The Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund, are focussed on improving education for the poorest children in Asia. We are excited to announce that this new collaboration, together with our partners at Studycat, will result in  an innovative teaching programme within the largest primary school in Kampong Chhang. Together, we will be developing an independently staffed & resourced English Language Laboratory with potential to scale & teach more languages to more young learners in the future.

We are partnering again with Studycat, the language learning app that makes learning fun – studycat.com

For this project we are initially aiming to reach a target group of 500 children per month – transforming their learning journey. In keeping with our core theme of Rugby, we are in discussions with one of our Rugby partners in Cambodia to provide the same group of children with rugby coaching as part of their PE lessons within the school.

Studycat have kindly donated their educational platform and have offered continued support to set this service up for which we are extremely grateful.  They plan to carry out a pre and post analysis of these students.  This will allow us a clear view of the students’ progress, and an analysis of programme impact over an extended period of time.  We are excited to be embarking on this meaningful venture, and hope it will be the start of developing many more language hubs where most needed.

We are hugely grateful to Studycat for their support! Studycat is on a mission to inspire kids all over the world with a love of language learning. Their language apps aim to help children learn through enjoyable, interactive game-play, resulting in happy, independent and lifelong learners. No boredom, no wasted time, just effective language skill acquisition.
