We Did It! Bhubesi Pride Foundation Thames Walk Raises £25.2K with 500+ Donors!

Home 5 News 5 We Did It! Bhubesi Pride Foundation Thames Walk Raises £25.2K with 500+ Donors!

We are thrilled to announce the tremendous success of the Bhubesi Pride Foundation Thames Walk 2024, where 25+ incredible walkers came together to complete the 72km challenge along the Thames. Through sheer determination and the collective support of our generous community, they raised an astounding £25,200 with the help of over 500 donors. What an inspiring effort from everyone involved!

This challenge wasn’t just about pushing physical limits—it was about bringing hope and opportunity to the children of Malawi. Every step taken by our walkers was for those young people who walk these distances every day just to access education and sport, and thanks to your support, we are now one step closer to making their journeys easier. Bhubesi Pride Foundation is constantly pushing themselves to get involved and support the children in their care. Read more about their wider efforts here.

BPF Founder Richard Bennett Reflects:

“It’s not often you’re able to bring together twenty-five-plus people for a grueling challenge, getting themselves moved to act and support a charitable cause. But when you do, as we did in London along the Thames on Saturday, the comradeship is joyous and the sense of achievement is palpable. And to also know that others—through Atlas and beyond—have supported us is both humbling and so, so rewarding. Thank you, everyone. And join us next year!!”

Where Your Donations Are Going

Your incredible contributions will help us make a huge impact in three key areas in Malawi:

  • Sport for Development (S4D) – Empowering 1,200 young people through rugby, netball, and life skills programs at our community centre and through outreach activities
  • Community Centre Running Costs –Covering vital site maintenance, security, and vehicle expenses to keep our community thriving.
  • Community Centre Improvements – Including resurfacing netball courts and acquiring a much-needed NGO vehicle to extend our reach.

Thank You

We cannot express enough how grateful we are to every walker, donor, and supporter who believed in the cause. Your generosity is helping to create brighter futures for thousands of children in rural Malawi, offering them access to sport, education, and life-changing opportunities.

Thank you for walking with us—both metaphorically and literally—towards a better tomorrow.

Until Next Year!

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again in 2025. If you missed this year’s trek, don’t worry—there’s always another chance to get involved and make a difference.

Stay tuned for more updates on how your contributions are transforming lives in Malawi, and how you can be part of our journey next year!
