Our Message on International Day of Hope

Hope has the power to change lives, strengthen communities, and create a brighter future.

Hope is the foundation of thriving communities. It promotes well-being, builds mutual respect, strengthens social stability, and lays the groundwork for sustainable development. Even in the most difficult circumstances, hope remains one of the most powerful forces for positive change.

On International Day of Hope, we celebrate the extraordinary individuals and communities who demonstrate every day that hope is more than optimism; it is action.

Rugby is a source of hope, engaging and inspiring children and young people.

At The Atlas Foundation, we harness rugby’s core values to deliver sustainable development programmes that improve the lives of children living in extreme poverty around the world.

Working alongside local communities, we identify the barriers preventing children from reaching their potential and empower our partners to deliver tailored support across education, health and inclusion. Together, we help create opportunities that break intergenerational cycles of poverty and build brighter futures for the next generation.

Over the past eleven years, we have partnered with 52 projects in 21 countries, reaching more than 270,000 children. Behind every one of those numbers is a child whose future has been strengthened through consistent, safe support and the dedication of local communities.

We will continue to strive to provide hope through meaningful action alongside our local partners, serving as a beacon of light for children.

Together, we are proving that hope is not simply something we feel; it is something we build.

Whilst we have already made a real difference to a host of projects, there is still so much to do, so please do come and join us in our quest to help the world’s poorest kids thrive through the power of rugby.
