Empowering young people at the Urban Rugby Championships!

Home 5 News 5 Empowering young people at the Urban Rugby Championships!

Over 230 kids from minority and under-resourced communities across America came together for the 2024 Urban Rugby Championships in Washington DC. The URC is an incredible opportunity for these kids and shows the transformative impact rugby has in empowering and inspiring disadvantaged young people!

The kids from 13 cities had the chance to visit the White House and Capitol building, as well as Georgetown and Howard Universities. These trips are an important part of the weekend and show the players what they can achieve. The support from local rugby clubs and the URC is life-changing for many young people, with several gaining rugby scholarships at prestigious colleges across the US.

Atlas was the headline sponsor for this year’s Championships, and we are incredibly proud of the transformative impact the URC has on the kids. Thank you to everyone who helped us make the weekend happen! See more pictures from the weekend on Atlas USA’s social media – @atlasfoundation_usa
