Richmond Rugby Community Fund
Richmond Rugby Club has an active Community Department providing the benefits of rugby to a wide population. This fund, in partnership with the Atlas Foundation – headed by Richmond resident and former international Jason Leonard – supports our community work. Improving the lives of local people through rugby.
Township
In 2014 Lincoln Mali set up a rugby festival for Township schools in and around Port Elizabeth. The ambition was to establish a lasting legacy for his rugby loving father, to reinvigorate interest in local rugby, to provide support and incentives to keep young people in education and to make a beneficial connection to their communities.
The Philip Williams Project
In memory of Philip “Tonka” Williams to support research into rugby related brain injuries and mental health issues.
Connect Sports Academy Fund
Connect offers a supported pathway for poor children to reach rugby’s greatest heights. It has a number of supporters in the UK keen to help individual athletes and the academy per se.
Mark Phillips Memorial Fund
Mark Phillips was one of the most important supporters of the Atlas Foundation from its foundation. An international expert in hotels and resorts he had travelled the world and seen child poverty first hand. This memorial fund has been established to further his work picking up on his commitment to international development, rugby, and his generosity to those who ever needed his help.
Kampuchea Balopp Fund
Kampuchea Balopp UK Fund for work in Cambodia and across Asia. Working with Atlas Asia to further our combined passions to lift children out of poverty through rugby.
Pettipher Family – Kolkata Street Kids Fund
Jim, Sally and Will Pettipher have established this fund to continue their personal support of the Jungle Crows and their Khelo Rugby programme in Kolkata and beyond.
Love of the Game
Rugby players are increasingly concerned about the possibility of getting dementia. Recent research points at potential causation between concussion, vascular damage and dementia. This appeal is to fund a study to look for ways to treat vascular damage.
Tackle London – Creating Change for Young Londoners
Tackle London is a joint initiative between three charitable organisations: Star Scheme, The Atlas Foundation and The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation. Our goal is to use rugby as a means to improve the lives and experiences of young people in London and counter Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).
