Today, we join people across the Commonwealth in celebrating Commonwealth Day – a moment to recognise the unity, diversity and shared values that connect us all.
The Commonwealth is a family of 56 independent nations, representing 2.7 billion people and an extraordinary richness of cultures, faiths and communities. It is a global network built on collaboration, mutual respect and a shared commitment to progress.
Through 48 partner organisations, The Atlas Foundation has supported more than 200,000 children worldwide, supporting 12 active projects across seven Commonwealth countries. From helping girls in Mombasa stay in school, to educating boys on gender equality in Eswatini, to equipping young people in South Africa with vital digital skills, Atlas is there, using rugby as a catalyst for positive change.
A Special Commonwealth Service
We were honoured to be invited by the Royal Commonwealth Society to attend the special Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
The service was attended by His Majesty King Charles III, members of the Royal Family, as well as High Commissioners and Ambassadors from across the Commonwealth. It was a privilege for our General Manager, Peter Scott, and our Marketing & Communications Officer, Beatrice Quinney, to represent The Atlas Foundation and our local partners, whose dedication and impact are transforming lives in Commonwealth communities around the world.
We are proud to support Commonwealth communities that demonstrate strength, determination and courage every single day.
I was deeply honoured to attend the Commonwealth Service. It was a memorable occasion and hugely inspiring to be in the same room as citizens from across the world, all celebrating our shared values. The Atlas Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children globally, and it was both humbling and encouraging to see our work and impact recognised on such an important international stage.
