Join us in the Big Give Christmas Challenge!
Atlas is participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge – where your donations have double the impact! Join us during the Big Give to help our partners in Eswatini, SKRUM, help young girls and boys overcome the challenges of HIV/AIDS and a repressive patriarchal culture that stops children believing they can have a better future.
Gina’s Story
Gina’s life changed forever when she came to the Gauteng Women’s Rugby Institute. Through rugby and academics, Gina is able to grow and, for the first time, she can see a way for a better future. Read more to see how the GWRI is giving Gina a chance to thrive.
Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation visits Atlas South Africa!
Atlas South Africa were honoured to host the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the U16s Rugby Monaco team to join us in a 3-day rugby programme. Playing against the kids at Ocean & Masi High, followed by a visit to our Atlas DigiBus, the visit was enjoyed by all, and saw some exceptional rugby!
Tiziano’s story
Extreme poverty, unemployment, and problems with addiction in the community make life difficult for Tiziano. With the help of Virreyes Rugby Club, and the support of his community, things are beginning to look up for Tiziano, and he now is able to see a way towards for a better future.
Felix’s Story
For Felix, childhood wasn’t always filled with play and friendship. Born with albinism, he faced heartbreaking prejudice—other children refused to play with him, believing harmful misconceptions about his condition.
“In the past I faced discrimination because other kids refused to play with me, they say that I will give them [albinism]” Felix shared. But when his father encouraged him to join Bhubesi Pride Foundation’s rugby programme, everything began to change.
Study Cat kicks off at Khelo!
Atlas is working with Study Cat to provide children at Khelo rugby with essential technology to improve their education. This programme is a game changer and is making education accessible for these children. With your continued support we can continue to provide more children with life changing opportunities like this!
James’ Story
When James joined Star* he was struggling in school, and was in Alternative Provision. The support James has from Star* has changed his life, helping to go back to mainstream school, and gain a 100% sports scholarship to a prestigious independent school!
Women’s Barbarians join The Atlas Foundation to inspire the next generation
The Women’s Barbarians joined The Atlas Foundation at Ocean View High School for a coaching day ahead of their South African test. The Baabaas and kids shared skills, stories and an unexpected lesson in hurling from their Irish contingent. The girls at Ocean View and Masiphumelele were inspired by the Baabaas and were exhilarated to spend some time with female rugby role models.
The Atlas DigiBus continues to help children thrive!
The Atlas DigiBus is helping an extra 1300 children per month in Langa, Cape Town with their computer lessons and this is leading to remarkable improvements in their English, Maths and coding skills! The Atlas Digibus gives these children valuable opportunities for growth and development, providing them with the chance to thrive!
Jean’s Story
Jean lives in rural Lilongwe, where education, health, and food are luxuries that many children sadly don’t have access to. Regrettably, these are not the only difficulties Jean faces, as she is bullied by other kids, causing her to feel isolated and lonely. Atlas and Bhubesi Pride Foundation are helping Jean through the Reconnect program, where children learn key life skills. Jean is now happier and healthier thanks to the program!
